This course must be paid in full when booking.

Our Gel Polish Courses at the Dover Academy are fully accredited with the Beauty Guild.

Age restrictions - you must be over 18 to complete the course and obtain insurance, however you can still attend from the age of 16 with written parental consent and provide a model over the age of 18. You will not be able to gain insurance with the Beauty Guild till 18 years of age.

This course is usually run 10-4, however due to high demand we will be running an additional course over 2 evenings and will be part 1 on first evening, and part 2 on second evening.

This course enables you to carry out Gel Polish treatments on friends and family, or gain insurance to start your career within the nail industry.

You will sign off on the following tasks:

-Maintain safe and effective methods of working when providing Gel Nail treatments

-Consult, plan and prepare for Gel Polish treatment

-Provide Gel Polish treatments

-Provide aftercare advice

Once full payment has been received the Dover Academy will register you with The Beauty Guild and you will receive a link from the Beauty Guild to complete the online theory.

Online theory

These are the units to be completed online prior to the practical day at your leisure:

-Introduction, Reception, Consultation and Ventilation

-Anatomy and Physiology

-Contra-indications and contra-actions

-Preparation

-Technique

-Gel removal

Please allow 4-6 hours to complete, don’t panic you can complete each unit separately.

Upon completion of your theory, you will then attend your training and assessment day.

Now the fun begins!

Practical day at Dover Academy

These following assessments will be required:

-Technique -Gel Polish Application

-Removal by soaking in acetone

-Removal by foil wrap and acetone

Once the record of assessment is ready to sign off, we will record you as passed with the Guild. You will then be able to access your certificate online, or you can choose to pay a fee of £15.00 to the Guild for a copy in the post.

You will then be able to apply for your insurance with the Beauty Guild.

Course fees:

£150.00 Gel Polish course

£25.00 the Beauty Guild (this cost will be deducted from your insurance).

Pre-requisites - None

For those wishing to work within the public sector we recommend you complete the Manicure course to expand your knowledge to be a nail technician and to add more services to your skill set.
